“My flock was gathering around that waterhole in spring 2013. Bedouinwoman Hathra told me that the goats and sheep had not been drinking water for a few weeks now, because they were absorbing sufficient water by eating plants. The divine rain was stored in the blooming desert…
Umrasik, the brother of Hathra, paid a visit with his camel to pick up some mountaincheese and butter. He also filled up his jerrycan with water for the onward journey. We left the waterhole and crossed the mountain pass heading for Bir Saura. In late afternoon all of a sudden Umrasik died a natural death. He was buried in the evening.”
