Place of inspiration, Genesis:

The project was started during an artist’s residency of Regina Hügli offered by Migros Kulturprozent at L’arc Romainmôtier, Switzerland (http://arc-artistresidency.ch). L’arc is situated in the Pilgrim’s House, which is part of the medieval monastic complex of Romainmôtier and lies very close to the river Noxon. The region of Romainmôtier is very rich of water: sources, cascades, mysterious lakes and dripstones – all kinds of water-phenomena can be observed there.

Inspired by these surroundings, Regina Hügli started working on the subject of water and memory. She invited a small group of friends (Svenja Plaas, Mathias Plüss, Adrian Kelterborn) to join her to work and discuss on the subject together in L’Arc Romainmôtier. After conceptually developing RESERVOIR, the project has been gradually growing. For the publication and exhibition in BILDRAUM 01 in Vienna, a Viennese journalist and several artists based in Vienna have joined the project. Two specific art-works have additionally been curated for the exhibition.
